Candace Gibson - Planner & Coordinator
I am the owner of CGE, born and raised in the North Carolina foothills, with over ten years of experience in event coordination. I began my journey at Surry Community College coordinating events such as the nursing pinning ceremonies and annual wine symposium.
After the birth of our second child, I really wanted the ability to stay at home with our sweet kids, and thanks to the "dreamer" mind of my husband, Candace Gibson Events was born.
I absolutely love planning and coordinating weddings in the foothills and mountains of NC and VA, supporting small businesses and local venues. Last year (2025) I had the exciting honor of being published in the Marry Me NC magazine for the Spring/Summer issue, and then being featured on the cover of the Fall/Winter issue!! I am excited to get to know you and be part of your special day. Let’s make your vision come to life.
Stephanie Best - Assistant Coordinator
I am a coordinator and assistant with CGE! I reside in Mount Airy with my husband and Goldendoodle, and I work full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Outside of work, I enjoy weight lifting, hiking, baking, singing and playing guitar.
My favorite part of a wedding day is participation in set-up and execution of the plans that have been in the making for so long! It’s a joy to see it all come together and to allow friends and family to enjoy the day carefree.
Candace Blevins - Assistant
I was born in Mount Airy and now call Dobson home where I live with my husband and two kids. I teach art and home economics at SCA, where I enjoy helping students grow. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, being outdoors, attending church, and making memories with family and friends.
Who doesn’t love a good wedding!? One of my favorite moments at weddings is watching the groom’s reaction as the bride walks down the aisle! While everyone watches the bride, I watch the groom - not to be overlooked!
Hannah Simmons - Assistant
Hi! I’m a North Carolina native who grew up in the small town of Dobson. I love messing with the flowers in my garden, hanging out with family, and watching all the romantic comedies.
When it comes to weddings, I love it all! The dress, the music, the vows, the look on the groom’s face when he sees his bride walking towards him…but I’d have to say my favorite part is the overall joy. Weddings are about love, commitment, and the excitement of starting a new life with the one you love. The joy and happiness are contagious, and I’m here for it!
